ADU Intake Request

Leckie Drafting Services Inc. provides permit-focused drawings for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and secondary suites within existing residential houses across Eastern Ontario.

This intake request is used to determine whether a property may be a suitable candidate for a legal secondary unit before the ADU Client Intake Form is issued and before any feasibility review or site visit is scheduled.

BEFORE YOU CONTACT US

This intake process is a good fit if:

  • You are planning a basement apartment, secondary suite, or in-law unit
  • The unit will be located within an existing residential house
  • You understand that not all properties are suitable for a legal ADU
  • You are prepared to follow a permit-based process
  • You are seeking permit-ready drawings, not design exploration

Projects requiring informal conversions, unpermitted work, or free consultations are not a good fit.

ADU INTAKE PROCESS

ADU projects follow a structured intake and feasibility process:

  1. ADU Intake Request
    This contact form is used to request the ADU Client Intake Form (PDF), which is completed by the homeowner as the next step.
  2. Client Intake & Pre-Screening
    The ADU Client Intake Form (PDF) is completed by the homeowner to confirm baseline feasibility factors such as ceiling height, exits, and existing conditions.
  3. Paid Feasibility Review
    If initial screening indicates potential viability, a paid on-site feasibility assessment ($495 + HST) is completed to verify conditions before permit drawings begin.

Permit drawings are only prepared once feasibility has been confirmed.

By submitting this intake request, you acknowledge that:

  • Completion of the ADU Client Intake Form is required before any site visit
  • Feasibility includes a paid on-site assessment ($495 + HST)
  • Not all properties are suitable for a legal secondary unit
  • Feasibility review does not guarantee permit approval
  • Final permit approval is determined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (municipality)
  • Engineering, zoning variances, and trade design services are not included in drafting fees
